A long overdue (on my part) mystery solved. But in case, you haven't seen it yet, here it is:
I guess nothing could've been worse than saying Ted could never get to the bottom of it. That was like saying Marshall just happened to forget one of the slaps. It was a mystery, like many on HIMYM, that we we eager to see solved. I guess they gave us some closure with this, but they could have done better.
TV's most modern family is back and they did not disappoint!
The Honeymooners
Probably my favorite couple of the show, Cam and Mitch are back from their honeymoon and it seems no one told Cam, the most hopeless (yes, a bit excessive) romantic of all. But that's what makes him so great, this is Cam at his best. He starts off cute, goes over the top...
...eventually and as always Mitchell can't take it, says something and Cam takes it terribly to heart.
Classic Mitch and Cam.
And also, fortunately, Mitch always has a mini gesture up his sleeve and all is well in that household again.
The Pritchetts
Loved this Gloria/Jay fight... and so glad Jay caved and Gloria got to keep her sweats and fanny pack in the closet, where they belong. Yes, appearances aren't everything and they do have true love (with money only being a small part of it) but let's face it, we love Sofia but this is not her best look:
So, please keep your toes numb and keep helping Jay dress. Those glasses have got to hide in the closest too, or in any case be shipped off to Colombia.
The Dunphys
How weird is it to see this bunch so happy together?Actually, how weird is it to see Claire this happy? (No, I'm not a Claire fan.)
I was hating the path they were taking with Alex being well, basically the reason everything goes wrong in the house. Poor Alex! Didn't she have a mini breakdown last season at the therapist's? Isn't that enough of her feeling like an outcast? However, the writers fixed things later with her being the smarty pants that actually holds this family together, poison, pornography and fire free. So, they're forgiven.
Modern Family ended with a super emotional Cam and Mitch wedding, I guess no major cliffhangers here except maybe Hayley’s denial crush on the ‘manny’. No , not that Manny. The male nanny.
Will Hayley finally get with the teen version of her dad?
Will Alex’s boobs get even bigger?
And will Claire stop being so goddamn annoying?
In all seriousness, expecting a lot of funny from this show. Season 5 was great, maybe their best yet. High hopes for season 6.
Many are obsessed with Phoebe. Almost everyone's favorite is Chandler and a lot have a soft spot for Joey. For me, even though it took him a season or 2 to get really funny he kept getting better and better, Ross will always be my favorite.
This video sums up why Ross, The Divorce Force, was the best character on Friends.
I read on IMDB that Mark Corrigan has a bit of George Costanza in his DNA. I just finished re-watching Peep Show and I can totally see it. He is a smarter, less asshole version of George. Just as sad, pathetic and cheap. Gotta love them both.
They´re just normal, functioning members of the human race and there´s no way anyone can prove otherwise:
They're a couple now and pretty cute together! Of course they each had to step a bit out of their comfort zone. Mindy has to endure eating cantaloupe, Danny has to dress up in pink but as Mindy says ' What is a relationship if not doing things you hate in between sex sessions?' .
On a more serious level, they do have their first fight . Mindy is babbling about the intimacies of their relationship to EVERYONE (classic Mindy) and Danny, or should I say Diamond Dan, is being very secretive. She finds an ex-girlfriend's thong in his drawer that turns out to be a stripper thong which in fact is a male stripper thong. So, Danny's stripper past gets out, as well as the piece of gossip he gave Mindy in their 'really good interpersonal chitchat'. Of course she couldn't keep either to herself so Danny gets upset and the whole party find out about Jeremy giving Peter's girlfriend a back rub. Poor Peter! Not only does he hear about it very awkwardly from Morgan's (cute and very funny) cousin (hopefully his first of many appearances on the show), but he has also been trying so hard to make things work with Lauren. And now suddenly Casanova Jeremy wants to see where things go with her? A very well deserved punch for Jeremy.
Of course, Mindy and Danny make up in a very cute secret sharing way. So, more of them please, more cousin Lou! And every once in a while why not throw in a Diamond Dan scene?
Season 4 is finally here! So far, so great! Jessica is her goofy first-two-seasons-self again now that her hands are off Nick. And most importantly, Schimdt is back and as funny as ever. His speech in the intro (including the Game of Thrones famous one-liner that cracked me up), his Cece obsession and his perfect excuse not to have a four-way with Nick (who wants hoof hands to potentially touch them in a four-way?)
Jessica Biel makes her promised appearance, looking pretty damn good. I totally understand the best man's dilemma (who is Dan from Veep by the way and Brendan from My Boys- Reid Scott). But I mean, come on, no matter how dorky you make Zooey Deschannel, she is still gorgeous.
Cece and her ten year old boyfriend break up. Shocker... I never knew what the whole fuss was about him anyway. Kinda a Twilight Edward look. Not a fan. Hoping this season we'll finally see Cece and Schimdt back together!
Couch and Winston didn't do much. The Nick and Jess situation didn't feel awkward. I wonder how having all four of them in one household is going to play out though. Are Nick and Schimdt going to bunk up as suggested in last season's finale? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
***SPOILERS for anyone not up-to-date with The Mindy Project and New Girl. ***
Season finales tend to leave some unresolved issues. Some have unbearable cliffhangers others an unexpected kiss, a love confession, a 'what now?' moment. So let’s refresh our memories:
The Mindy Project: Mindy and Danny finally got together …. what now? How do they not ruin their relationship again? I’m guessing it’s going to be Mindy/Danny, surviving your significant other at work kind of season till they inevitably break up and keep us hanging till they get back together?
Fun Finale Fact: Gomey (Steven Michael Quezada from Breaking Bad) makes a tiny Empire State Building appearance. So that makes two stars from Breaking Bad (Anna Gunn) that have been on the show.
*Also, Niecy Nash (Raineesha from Reno 911!) will be on this season .
From a new relationship we move on to a fresh break- up on New Girl: Nick and Jess. So, a ‘how to live with your ex and not kill him’ kind of season? To be honest I never liked them as a couple, I hope they don’t turn into the Ross and Rachel / will they won’t they couple of the show. I’d much rather that happen with Schmidt and Cece. Love those two together. Looking forward to a lot of Schmidt, as always. Season 3 wasn't as good as the previous two so hoping they pick things up.
Also, two guest stars in this finale: Kerri Kenney (Reno 911!) and Oscar Nuñez (The Office) - not a big fan of his out there, flamboyant characters.
And Jessica Biel will be guest staring this new season.
