For all of us anxiously counting down the days for Season 5 here’s a bit of fun from the fourth season.

The best love flourishes from the best friendships. I've never believed that more. That kind of friendship that sees beyond looks ,the circles under your eyes and horrible hair days. The kind that loves to be around you, laughs at your jokes, and enjoys being dorky with you. Love gets you- really gets you. Without a word, with just a look (or an air high five). It is effortless, but when the going gets tough, you stick around because it's worth it.
Love is Jim and Pam. Even if they're just characters on a show , they really define love. Its struggles, its patience, its triumphs. September will always be my back to school season, even at 24 and after having spent almost a decade in the Southern Hemisphere. This song song has nostalgia written all over it. Other than reminding me of the The Office's finale- one of the saddest things to happen to TV (for me that is) it takes me back to graduating high school, that mixture of freedom and fear, happiness and sadness but mostly nostalgia. It felt like the end of an era on that graduating day and weirdly the same way the day I saw this finale. 'I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them' - Andy Bernard Philip Baker Hall on Seinfeld. One of my favorite (super minor) characters on the show. Jerry can barely contain himself and he gets me every time. Happy 83rd birthday Philip! If you haven't seen Bad Words, do. He is also in it and it's a surprisingly good and very funny movie. Plus, Jason Bateman! Need I say more? You got 7 days, Seinfeld, that is one week (to watch Bad Words)! A shout out to this birthday boy (43, today). Here are some of Eric Stonestreet's best moments as Cameron Tucker: As I had said the day I watched this show end: They should have just cut it right at the umbrella scene. A sweet, cute conversation with Ted's soul mate. The person we were waiting for for 9 seasons. That might have saved the-dare I say- horrible last season.
So here it is, the alternate ending. No deaths. No divorces. No drama. Even though it was conceived right from the beginning here's why I think the original ending was a disappointment: 1) It was immensely rushed. We've been living with this group of friends on an almost week to week basis for 8 seasons. And suddenly the last episode covered about what? a decade was it? 2) The focus of the last season. A whole season dedicated to a wedding and that couple gets divorced in a matter of 2 minutes. Why would you torture us with their wedding preparations and wedding for 22 episodes if they're just going to break up in a by the way HORRIBLY depicted Argentina (seriously, some research wouldn't hurt) because Robin is a workaholic. She's been focused on her career since day one. That wasn't going to change. Maybe their divorce was inevitable but I was always a big Barney and Robin fan. If Robin was going to make it with anyone it was going to be Barney. Which brings me to my next point... 3) Ted and Robin do NOT work! This is clear even before they start dating. They lead totally different lives and most importantly want totally different things in life. This isn't something that's changed. Plus, they kinda worked as friends when Ted wasn't sulking over her. And finally, 4) Mourning the Mother. You get this cute little actress who at first seems like the least hot in the pool of attractive women Ted's dated, and you make us love her. She looks like Lily, she really gets along with the gang, and most importantly she is perfect for Ted! You kill her off and we don't even see Ted shed a tear. I mean, come on! As if this weren't enough, it feels like Ted can finally get with the one he really loves (and his kids' are more than ok with it.) We've been waiting for the mother for 9 seasons only to have her ripped away from us in 5 seconds. The fact that he goes back to Robin after this tragedy makes Tracy's death feel like a cheap gateway to Ted and Robin being together (and most probably breaking up eventually.) Anyway, let's just pretend it ended like in this video! Yes, this is a movie trailer but other than the various TV stars returning for the sequel, Jonathan Banks is in this one (Mike from Breaking Bad.)
He also had appearances on Modern Family, Parks and Rec, and he joined the cast Community last season. So, I started watching Veep. Mainly because of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Tony Hale. I mean, Elaine Benes and Buster Bluth working together, who wouldn't want to see that?
Is it just me or does she have a little Michael Scott in her? ( That's what she said.) Season 2, here I come. As unprofessional (and funny) as an interpretation can get. Oh what the power of knowing a language can get you. Computer translators, you will not take this away from us! |
